FBO ANNOUNCEMENT: PRESOLICITATION NOTICE, NOTICE OF INTENT ACTION CODE: SPECIAL NOTICE CLASSIFICATION CODE: 66 � Instruments and Laboratory Equipment SUBJECT: Gas Chromatograph Single Quad Mass Spectrometer with Pyrolyzer Inlet SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB646110-22-00297 DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Quantum Analytics, Inc., located in Oak Ridge North, Texas for a GCMS with Pyrolyzer Inlet. Sole Source Justification is based on the following: NISTs Chemical Sciences Division requires a Gas Chromatograph Single Quad Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) with Pyrolyzer Inlet used for the identification and quantification of plastic polymer marine debris and plastic additives.� The instrument must be able to reproducibly generate high resolution and high-quality Py-GC/MS spectra with polymer and additive information, for single or multiple plastics in a sample.� Further, the instrument must give reproducible quantitative results and data compared to other GC/MS instruments with use of Agilent Mass hunter software.
