- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Estimated Date of Award: January 17, 2022. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 7, hereby provides notice of its intent to make a sole source award in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302-2, Only One Source, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items to Accelerate Diagnostics Inc., 3950 South Country Club, Suite 470, Tucson, AZ 85714. The contract will be for the Accelerate Pheno System analyzer, Accelerate Pheno Test BC Kits, BC AST QC Tests, and the BC ID QC Test Panels on a cost-per-test basis for one base year with four (4), one-year option periods. The Accelerate Pheno System will provide an Identification (ID) with a Phenotypic Susceptibility (AST) and MIC in only 7 hours, thus improving efficiency in patient care through early antibiotic therapy treatment for patients of the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia South Carolina. In accordance with FAR Part 6, contracts awarded using this authority shall be supported by a written justification and approval as described in FAR 6.303 and 6.304, as applicable. The justification has been prepared and will be posted within fourteen (14) days after contract award. The Government will consider all capability statements received by this synopsis's closing date. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the Government's discretion. Information received will be considered strictly to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The order will be a firm fixed price with NAICS Code 325413, and FSC 6550. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Vendors with an interest in this requirement and/or the capability to support this requirement must respond to this notice with clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be emailed to lasonja.harvey@va.gov and must include the 36C24722Q0210 AST and MIC in the subject line for consideration. Responses must be received no later than 1:00 pm ET on Monday, January 3, 2022.
