Description
Request for Information (RFI) No. 1 Solicitation 36C24222B0015, Project 632-20-108 Kitchen and Dining HVAC, Northport VAMC Provide the name of the BMS contractor that s currently servicing the Building. Answer: Siemen s Controls. Only the new controller, etc. for the new AHU system will be by Johnson and will be tied into the existing Johnson (FX) system in Building 200. All other unit controls in Building 92 will remain on the Siemen s system. Refer to construction documents. See also question no. 3. Is there a local fire alarm that the AC unit needs to be tied into? If so, what is the make and model and who is the contracted service vendor? Answer: Edwards EST 3. Casey Fire Systems is the vendor that services the FACP. Is there an existing BMS that needs to be tied into? If so, what make and model? Answer: Johnson Controls (FX) in Building 200. All new controls for the new Roof-top AHU (AH-5) unit and system, including VAV Terminal units, reheat coils and new exhaust Fan will be by Johnson controls. All other unit controls in Building 92 will remain on the Siemen s system. Refer to construction documents. See also question no. 1. Does asbestos testing have to be done, since this building was completed in 1988, asbestos isn't expected? Answer: Asbestos testing was done by the A/E. Only the Roof Parapet contains asbestos which will not be disturbed during construction. Refer to Construction Documents. What are the regular working hours for Building 92? Answer: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Are there any permits that need to be filed? Answer: NO. See also question no. 8. Please confirm if taxes should be carried in proposals? Answer: This is not a tax-exempt project. Please refer to solicitation clause 52.229-3, especially section (b)(1). Also please see FAR 29.303 and 29.305. Please confirm if any state, local, and/or Federal permits will be required on this project? Answer: NO. See also question no. 6. Please confirm if there are any known hazardous materials? Answer: Only the Roof parapet contains asbestos which will not be disturbed during construction. Refer to construction documents. Drawing 92-EP-100, mentions a ANSUL System. Is this expected to be provided by division 26? Answer: The ANSUL system is existing. All work shall be coordinated with the VA COR an VA Fire Department. Refer to Keyed notes on Drawing. The same drawing mentions an existing Edwards fire alarm system. Could we get a contact for whose system it is? Answer: Edwards, EST 3. Casey Fire Systems is the vendor that services the FACP. Can you please forward a copy of the sign -in sheet? Answer: See attachment Pre-Bid Site Visit Sign-in Sheet . Do you have any information on model number of existing Edwards FACP on this project? Plans specify Edwards but do not identify model. Answer: Edwards EST 3. Casey Fire Systems is the vendor that services the FACP.
