Description

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) has a requirement to procure �urgent� COVID test kits and controls for the detection of nucleic acid for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The Government intends to conduct this procurement on a sole source basis from Gen-Probe Inc.� The continued purchase of COVID testing supplies from Gen-Probe Inc. will allow the laboratory the use of supplies already on hand as they work in conjunction with this order. Use of different laboratory COVID testing reagents would result in additional cost to the government and result in delays that would place patient care and staff safety at risk. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS and no solicitation exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost and capabilities, sufficient to determine a contractor's ability in providing the same equipment. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� A copy of the Justification and Approval will be posted no later than fourteen (14) days after award.
