The sea lamprey trap will be constructed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in a separate contract and will be designed to fit into the trap vault. In addition to the construction of a sea lamprey trap structure, the project will also include the creation of an access path leading to the platform and repairs to the east bank weir wingwall. The access path will consist of two steel sheet pile (SSP) enclosures constructed on the north and south sides of an existing stormwater swale and steel grating spanning the width of the swale. The path will be 15-feet-wide and approximately50-feet-long. The SSP enclosure will have H-pile cross beam bracing and will be filled with crushed limestone fill. The existing stormwater swale will be re-graded and lined with riprap.
