- Description
- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. FURTHER, IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. This notice of intent to sole source is hereby issued and posted in accordance with FAR 5.201. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract, for Microsoft Enterprise, to CDW Government, under the authority of FAR 16.505(b)(2)(C) The order must be issued on a sole-source basis In the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow on to an order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order.. The FCC intends to negotiate with the current contractor, CDW Government. This contract is with NASA SEWP (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) GWAC (Government-Wide Acquisition Contract) under its contract with CDW Government, LLC contract number NNG15SC28B. The order is a firm fixed priced order with twelve (12) month base period and two optional twelve (12) month option years. This action is a logical follow-on to order 273FCC20F0161 which was competitively awarded to CDW on 09/29/2020. The purpose of this requirement is in support of the continued operations and maintenance of the Office of the Managing Director (OMD) Information Technology Center (ITC). The modification to increase the ceiling value of the contract is based on the increase usage of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure for Cloud (VDIC). As the FCC prepares for increased virtual and remote workers, partially created by the pandemic, VDIC environment has realized an annual cost increase to support the users. Funding will primarily cover the costs related to Azures Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) increased usage including but not limited to adding new VDI profile units, increasing the VDI profile unit memory to support virtual machine (VM) resources/applications, and a 65% increase in the number of active hours for user VMs. All questions regarding this notice shall be directed to Nereyda Dunn via email at nereyda.dunn@fc.gov. The subject line must state FCC MS EA - Company Name - Questions. All questions must be received via email no later than 2:00pm on or before Friday, January 14, 2022.
