DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) Houston, Texas 77030 Part I: General Information A. Introduction The Michael E. DeBakey VAMC (MEDVAMC) located at 2002 Holcome Blvd. Houston, Texas 77030, has a requirement the Akta Go Protein Purification (Chromatography) System and Supplies. B. Background The Akta Go System is a small and compact liquid chromatography system that will allow us to perform routine protein purification with ease while allowing for efficient use of bench space and offers the benefit for automated chromatography technology. The MEDVAMC, Research Department has been utilizing an older model Akta Go system and software over the last ten years, and that model is reaching its end-of-life cycle. The newer requested model is more compact, specifically for small labs like ours, making the most of valuable bench space, and essential to maintain continuity, as different hardware and software configurations can make learning and actual use difficult. C. Scope Contractor shall provide, deliver and install (if applicable) the system to the MEDVAMC, Houston, Texas. REQUESTED RESPONSES: The intent of this Request for Information is to establish sources to define the procurement strategy (e.g. set-aside, sole source, unrestricted) for a solicitation that VA intends to post soon. Interested contractors are requested to respond in accordance with the following: Please respond to this RFI if you can provide the name products listed in section above. The estimated pricing will be considered when determining the procurement strategy for the future solicitation. (e.g. if CO determines that capable small businesses cannot provide fair and reasonable pricing, then the solicitation will not be set-aside). Please note that if no responses to this notice are received, from either authorized distributors of the cited brand name nor from manufacturers marketing a potentially equivalent brand, then this action will be sole sourced to the manufacturer cited in the Background section above.
