- Description
- This is a Request For Information - This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. No contract will be awarded as a result of this Sources Sought announcement. The United States Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants is soliciting information from qualified sources; the results of this announcement will be evaluated to determine if there are businesses capable of performing the proposed work. The US Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants seeks responses from vendors that possess the capability to supply Brand Name Only Micromeritics SediGraph Plus Automatic Particle Size Analyzer P/N 512/50000/0089. Technical Specifications are as follows: Particle mass is measured directly via X-ray absorption. By measuring the rate at which particles fall under gravity through a liquid having known properties as described by Stokes law, the SediGraph determines the equivalent spherical diameter of particles ranging from 300 to 0.1 micrometers. Complete particle accountability all the introduced sample is accounted for, including fractions below 0.1 m Scanning the sedimentation cell from bottom to top for accurate inventory of fast-settling particles while minimizing the time required to resolve the separation of fine particles Fully automatic operation to reduces operator involvement in addition to reducing the opportunity for human error Temperature-controlled analyses assure that liquid properties remain constant throughout the analysis Multiple analysis speeds to choose the desired combination of speed and resolution that meets required standards Real-Time display to monitor the cumulative mass plot of the current analysis and to make immediate procedural changes Statistical process control (SPC) reports track the analysis performance and allowing immediate response to fluctuations Plot overlays provides a visual comparison of analysis results from one or more analyses, a reference or baseline analysis Data comparison plots provide graphical displays of the mathematical difference between two data sets For further information, interested parties may contact the Contracting Officer, Charlan Fejarang at (916)278-9329 or cjfejarang@usgs.gov by the due date, January 18, 2021.
