Description
Provide all professional architectural and engineering (A/E) services necessary to develop complete construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, project phasing s, site visits and construction period administration associated with a full building renovation. Provide operation plans for continuity of services, with associated cost options, for the relocating of IRM, Warehouse, and Dietetic kitchen services for the duration of the construction contract. Renovate 39,400 GSF of space in building 3 to correct Facility Condition Assessment, Life-Safety and Patient Care deficiencies within the Dietetics Kitchen & EHRM Modernization of IRM. Currently Building 3 is the sole dietetics kitchen on campus for patients & central receiving location for deliveries to the campus. This project will improve patient care by providing modernized systems, replacing flooring, providing a climate-controlled environment and modern food preparation and service area. The project will reduce life-safety deficiencies by providing a new sprinkler system and fire alarm controls. The project will also address sustainability and energy efficiency by replacing failing HVAC systems, upgrading the water distribution within the building, and replacing the aging windows with thermally efficient units and repairing and enclosing the loading dock. This will allow Bedford VAMC to provide all veterans with a modernized Dietetic Kitchen for Health and Wellness of Veterans while reducing the long-term costs of operation at the Medical Center.
