- Description
- Scope. Replace existing failed equipment with new conductors, splices and terminations to restore emergency power to critical infrastructure. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform all tasks. The contractor shall be responsible for establishing all mechanical and electrical connections according NEC and existing commercial standards, work safely and as required for installation. Repair CLC emergency feeder. Contractor shall demolish and remove failed circuit DBG3 conductors, terminations, and splices from Manhole EB1-6 which feed and connect into CLC substation. Contractor shall procure and install 3 new 15KV, 1/0 AWG conductors and associated materials from manhole EB1-6 to manhole EB1-7 and then into CLC substation. Contractor shall procure and install new splice kits, fire tape and terminations. Contractor shall rerack cables and terminate live end at CLC substation. New feeders shall meet or exceed electrical specifications as faulted cables being removed. Feeders will be terminated IAW National Electric Code and industry standards. Contractor shall test and certify new feeders for operation. Repair two Hospital emergency feeders. Contractor shall demolish and remove failed circuit DBG6 and DBG7 conductors, terminations, and splices from Manhole EB1-3 which feed and connect into Hospital substations. Contractor shall procure and install 6 new 15KV, 4/0 AWG conductors and associated materials from manhole EB1-2 to manhole B1-3 and then into Hospital substations. Contractor shall procure and install new splice kits, fire tape and terminations. Contractor shall rerack cables and terminate live end at Hospital substations. New feeders shall meet or exceed electrical specifications as faulted cables being removed. Feeders will be terminated IAW National Electric Code and industry standards. Contractor shall test and certify new feeders for operation. Site Visit. Quoters are strongly encouraged to inspect each site to fully inform themselves of the nature of the work and the conditions under which the work is to be performed. Failure to do so shall in no way relieve the successful offeror from the necessity of furnishing any materials or performing any of the work that may be required to complete the work in strict accordance with the true intent and meaning of the specifications without additional cost to the VA. A site visit will be conducted at each facility, beginning at the Lake Nona site followed by each site in the order below.
