- Description
- Questions and Answers for RFQ 36C26022Q0165 Question: Does the system have to be pneumatic, or can it be completely electronic Must be battery powered on an air system ? Answer: The system must be pneumatic. There are no electrical outlets available in the area where it will be used. Question: Can the turning system on the target be only battery powered with no air hose? Answer: No, a battery per turning target would limit the ability to be portable. No ability to charge ten batteries at the range or room for storage. Question: Please clarify the required target presentations the actuators must provide: 180° (friend/edge/foe) 90° (expose/edge), or 45°? All three are referenced in section D.1, Salient Characteristics. Answer: Turning target will turn 90-degrees displaying friend /foe/target and turning back 90-degrees displaying on the edge. Question: Please clarify if the space described in the first bullet, 3x3x4ft(h), is for storage of the portable actuators only, or the actuators and all other system components (such as batteries, data and pneum. power lines, compressor)? Answer: The system should use one 12v battery, communication cords, controller, ten targets bases w/actuators in a 3 x3 x4 (h)space. Question: Please clarify if an air powered target system is proposed, must system provided include compressor and all required pneumatic lines? and if so, what is the available electric power (for compressor) and how far is that from the target locations? The bullets in Section D refer to both range of a minimum of 100 yards and Air hose needs to be 50 yards in length. Answer: No, the facility already has a gas-powered compressor and 12v battery for the range. A 50 ft air hose is needed. Question: What is maximum range required for the Remote (assuming this reference in seventh bullet is to the target controller), acknowledging minimum range is 100yds? Answer: The remote is a wireless target controller. The maximum range of this remote needs to be greater than 100 yds. Insufficient wireless strength, due to obstruction or frequency interruption under 100 yards, would cause issues. Question: Please confirm what the width and height of the existing ballistic protection at the target emplacements. Answer: Current target system has no ballistic protection. Question: In the spec s you provided it looks like the target is required to turn both 90 degrees and 45 degrees? Also, in the description, it makes it sound like the target needs to be able to turn 180 degrees. Is there a specific target manufacturer this spec was written for? I m not aware of a target on the market that can meet the requirements of this spec. Answer: The target needs to turn 90 degrees.
