- Description
- ***Please note a change has been made to list the RFQ, FA8524-22-Q-0002. This is a synopsis for this effort. The purpose of this competitive requirement is to establish a purchase order for the Main Direct Current (DC) Generator, which is part of the engine system on the TH-1H Helicopter. This purchase order is for a one-year repair for 43 units. NSN: 6115-00-942-2094GA; PN: 30B37-37. The Main DC Generator is mounted on an accessory pad on the forward side of the main rotor transmission and is rated at 300 amperes. Voltage is controlled by a voltage regulator which is part of the main generator system. The Main DC Generator is driven at the same speed as the engine output shaft and has to be turned within a specific range of speed to furnish the rated current at the normal regulated voltage. The DC Generator is used to generate the electrical power required for 28-volt aircraft electrical systems. The DC generator is a brush-type rotating machine capable of delivering 30 Volts DC at the rated current of 300 amperes. When driven at its rated speed (5000 RPM). The unit is self-cooled by means of an integral fan rotating with output shaft. A terminal board is mounted on the housing to facilitate external connections. Overhaul and acceptance testing of subject Generator 30B37-37A will accomplish IAW former Army Technical Manual (TM) 55-6115-498-40 or equivalent document (AF TO 8D6-6-10-73). Special tools and equipment are referenced in the (TM) document, thus potential overhaul Contractor would have to possess both prior knowledge and ability, and access to specified equipment to properly accomplish the overhaul in a manner that is traceable to some standard. The RMC/RMSC code is R1/C. R1 means suitable for competitive repair for the second or subsequent. C means the part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain quality of the part. Existing unique engineering skills, and repair knowledge by the qualified sources require repair of the part by the approved sources. The approved sources retain repair knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. It is recommended that a small business from limited competition of qualified sources be used for contract repair of the DC Generators. Robins AFLCMC/WIU Engineer approval must be given any potential source desiring to overhaul the DC Generators to USAF specifications and must be granted prior to consideration for contract award. Destination: DLA Distribution Warner Robins, GA. Routine Delivery 45-days after receipt of order or repairable asset, whichever is later. This action will result in the award of a one-time purchase order consisting of a 12 month period of performance. The period of performance is projected to be from March 2022- March 2023. This effort will be awarded using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (FAR Part 15.101-2) among Source-Approved Contractors. The Government intends to only make one award. The Government will not be obligated to determine a competitive range, conduct discussions with offerors, or solicit final proposal revisions.
