- Description
- Agency/Office: Army Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) Title: Special Notice GVS OTA, W15QKN-17-9-1025 Task Request 22 (TR 22), Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) 10X Dismounted Infantry Platoon Description: The Government intends to issue Task Request (TR) 22 under the Ground Vehicle Systems Other Transaction Agreement (GVS OTA), W15QKN-17-9-1025, for the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (RAI) 10X Dismounted Infantry Platoon prototype project to the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC). The GVS OTA was awarded to the NAMC on 26 September 2017, in support of Ground Vehicle System related Research and Development prototype projects. The intent of TR 22 is to seek off-the-shelf or limited development RAI prototypes for Government integration into a system-of-systems with the objective of making the Infantry Platoon's lethality, mobility, protection, situational awareness, endurance, persistence, and depth ten times (10X) more effective and allow the Platoon members to make better decisions 10X faster. The selected integrated prototypes as a system-of-systems will participate in a 10X RAI Equipped Infantry Platoon Technology Demonstration (also referred to as 10X Tech Demo) for Senior Army, Joint, and Defense Department leadership to be held tentatively 11-15 September 2023 at Fort Benning, GA and the Project Convergence 23 Demonstration to be held tentatively on 26 Oct 2023 at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ. The Government intends on providing Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport (SMET) platforms and legged robots to Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) to serve as integration platforms for the commercial technologies. The SMET platforms and legged robots will be integrated with a Robotic Technology Kernel (RTK) based autonomy kit and include defined Robotics and Autonomy Systems Ground Interoperability Profiles (RAS-G IOP) interfaces to enable 10x payload integration. The Government will provide documentation detailing the RAS-G IOP interfaces and RTK Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for prototypes that require integration with the ground platform autonomy kit. The Government will leverage GTRI (an Army-sponsored University Affiliated Research Center) to integrate prototype robotics and AI systems through Manned Unmanned Teaming (MUMT). The anticipated Period of Performance for TR 22 is fifteen (15) months. The Government does not intend to pursue a Follow-on Production effort under the authority of 10 USC 2371b(f) for this effort. NOTE: This Special Notice is for informational purposes only. A prototype project will not be awarded in response to this announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to provide industry advanced notification of the Governments intent to release Task Request 22 to the NAMC.
