Description

MODEM REDESIGN SERVICE FOR AN/TSC-156D PHOENIX SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) is conducting a market survey, through this Request for Information (RFI) notice, to determine a possible service provider for the AN/TSC-156D, which is also known as phoenix satellite communications system. Phoenix�s current modulator-and-demodulator (modem) NSN: 5895-01-600-2641 is obsolete. This RFI is to identify a service provider that can resolve Phoenix�s modem issue by modifying the 2050E modem and integrate it in to Phoenix�s configuration baseline. The AN/TSC-156D Phoenix is a transportable Tactical Satellite Communications Terminal (TACSAT) which operates, in Super High Frequency (SHF) Bands (C, X, Ku, and Ka), over commercial and military satellites. The mission of the AN/TSC-156D is to provide flexible, mobile, high capacity, extended range communications. The AN/TSC-156D supports various network topologies transporting voice, data, and video group traffic and is backward compatible with legacy Ground Mobile Forces (GMF) Satellite Terminals. This Market Survey is for information ONLY, and will be used for preliminary planning purposes. NO proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals and NO contract shall be awarded from this survey. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. * The Government does not have any technical data in its possession.� Potential bidders should have all technical data and experiences required to provide the above services. Respondents to this RFI must provide enough information to demonstrate their capabilities to provide the services.
