Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items the solicitation number for this procurement is N001174-22-SIMACQ-R1-R1-0025 and this is a Request For Quotation (RFQ).� The anticipated award will be a Firm Fixed Price Contract, the award will be made based on the lowest price. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333517. All items shall be delivered FOB Destination to Indian Head, MD 20640-5070. STATEMENT OF WORK:� for Purchase of Hitachi IM4000 Plus Broad Ion Milling System This contract will detail the procurement of a commercial off-the-shelf Ion Milling system at NSWC Indian Head. The Ion Milling system will be procured with QETE funding that has been awarded and will reside on base at NSWC Indian Head Division in Building 1846. The Ion Milling system is needed to flat polish energetics samples below nanometer resolution, without applying mechanical stresses to the sample. An Ion Mill which generates low-energy argon ions and bombards a sample. A mask is placed directly on top of the sample, which is not only used for protecting the top surface, but also provides a sharp edge to create a ?at cross-section face by sputtering away material that is exposed beyond the masked edge. Observation of the polished surface is performed via Scanning Electron Microscopy of microstructures or defects. Ion Milling can quickly and effectively provide a damage-less flat milling method to enhance mechanically prepared materials. The materials purchased in this contract consist of the following: Model IM4000 PLUS Table Top Ion Milling System, Cross-section Milling Unit for IM4000, Flat Ion Milling Unit for IM4000, Thin Alumina Guide for Maruto Sample Polisher for IM4000/ArBlade 5000, Cross Section Sample Adaptor for Maruto Sample Polisher for IM4000/ArBlade, Regulator Kit (IM4000), Spare Mask for Cross-section Milling (5 pieces/set), Specimen stub for cross section milling, SEM Attachment Base Plate for ion mill cross section sample stub, Super High-Density Mask (SHD-2), TEK-Reps High Magnification In-Situ Video Scope with the Scope Stand and Coaxial Illumination for IM4000 & ArBlade5000. This contract also includes miscellaneous services: Advanced Applications Training, System installation and basic operational training by Hitachi with Pre-installation onsite room survey is included if necessary, and Shipping Fee for Ion Milling System Model IM4000. This is a one-time material purchase that should not require future/additional maintenance via service contracts. This item has not been purchased by NSWC Indian Head Division in the past. There is a current service agreement with Hitachi for separate piece of equipment that is on base within Bldg. 1864. Request for Quotation should be submitted and shall contain the following information: Solicitation Number; Time Specified for receipt of offers; Name; Address; Telephone Number of Offeror; Terms of the expressed warranty; Price, Payment terms, Any discount terms, F.O.B. destination, CAGE code, DUNS number, Tax ID number and acknowledgement of all solicitation amendments. Quotes must indicate quantity, unit price and total amount.
