Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15 intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 USC ยง3304(a)(1) and implemented by FAR 6.302-1 to Cepheid, located at 904 Caribbean Dr, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 under Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. It is the intent of the Department of Veterans Affairs (herein afterwards referred to as VISN 15) to establish an Advantage Level service contract for the Cepheid molecular diagnostic platforms (GeneXpert and Infinity), based on a base year contract with four (4) option years. The contractor shall provide maintenance, to include all replacement parts, software updates, labor, travel expenses, tools, test equipment, shipping costs, insurance costs for shipment and other incidentals necessary to maintain or restore the listed equipment to maintain or restore the listed equipment to operating specifications which meet or exceed the manufacturer s specifications. All parts used must be new or factory rebuilt for that model and type of device. If any action requires replacement of hard drive (or other storage media), the contractor shall not remove the hard drive (storage media) from the VA premises and, must turn over said device to Biomedical Engineering. Contractor shall include all hardware and software, updates, patches, and revisions, and licenses to already purchased devices and options at no additional charge to participating VA facilities. Advantage Level Service includes the follows: Phone Technical Support, 24 X 7 Onsite service support 5 X 10 hours (8AM 6pm) Annual Preventative Maintenance Check-up performed by trained Field Service Engineer. All travel, labor, and materials expenses included. Cepheid On-site Annual Preventative Maintenance includes: Replace worn modules ejectors Lubricate moving parts Replace fan filters Brush clean module optics Replace automation (batteries (if necessary) Xpert Check Service Engineer on site within 24 hours after best efforts are made to diagnose the issues and determine the needed repair and parts. Software Upgrades included 98% Uptime Guarantee All Cepheid certified spare parts needed and used in repairing the instrument. This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive quotes. There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes.
