Silver Lake Boardwalk Replacement *****UPDATED INFORMATION**** - Please note CO change. This notice is a special notice to conduct the site visit, which already happened. Please be sure to contact the new CO to get information about the pre-solicitation notice and the solicitation notice. Pre-solicitation Fall Site Visit for Great American Outdoors Act Project Project Summary: The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest intends to issue a solicitation for the complete reconstruction of the boardwalk at Silver Lake. The work includes but is not limited to the removal of existing boardwalk and fishing pier improvements, installation of the new boardwalk and fishing pier improvements, salvage and reinstallation of existing interpretive signs and kiosk, and installation of aggregate paths. The bid items for this work are identified in the schedule of items. The main boardwalk and fishing pier are the base bid items. Additional fishing piers, boardwalk construction, picnic aggregate path, and boardwalk demolition have been listed as optional bid items. The goal of this approach is to provide flexibility and to obtain the most cost-effective contract for the Forest Service. In accordance with FAR 36.204 the magnitude of this project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. This visit is being conducted prior to solicitation as the site is expected to be inaccessible prior to the actual solicitation and award of the project. This is not a solicitation and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on this site visit nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The intent of this notice is to ensure that prospective vendors may see the site and proposed work prior to heavy snowfall and issuing the solicitation. This solicitation is anticipated to be issued in January of 2022. The work anticipated under any contract resulting from the solicitation will be started as soon as conditions on-the-ground are favorable for the prosecution of the work next summer (estimate early May 2022 starting date).
