- U.S. Government seeks to lease a minimum of 7,300 and up to a maximum of 8,030, ANSI/BOMA Office Area square feet of office and related space in Merrillville, or surrounding areas in northwest, IN. Delineated Area: Beginning at Interstate 94 and Indiana State Road 49 (SR 49), then running south on SR 49 to Route 30, then running east on Route 30 to Indiana State Road 2 (SR 2), then following SR 2 in a southerly direction to East 181st Avenue where SR 2 turns east, continuing east on SR 2 to U. S. Route 41, then following Route 41 north to Interstate 94, East on Interstate 94 to SR 49Beginning at Interstate 94 and Indiana State Road 49 (SR 49), then running south on SR 49 to Route 30, then running east on Route 30 to Indiana State Road 2 (SR 2), then following SR 2 in a southerly direction to East 181st Avenue where SR 2 turns east, continuing east on SR 2 to U. S. Route 41, then following Route 41 north to Interstate 94, East on Interstate 94 to SR 49. Agency Unique Requirements: Additional Requirements: Proposed space cannot be on, or below, the first floor of the building. Proposed space cannot be on the top floor of the building nor have rooftop access to the space. Proposed office space cannot be inside a shopping mall or shopping center. Proposed building cannot house day care facilities, women�s health clinics, mental health clinics or drug rehabilitation clinics within the building. Proposed building cannot house immigration, probation, public defenders, and/or social service offices within the building. Proposed building or parking facility cannot be within 1,000 feet of agencies of tenants identified above. Proposed building must accommodate secured parking for official vehicles at this facility. Proposed building cannot be within 1,000 feet of places of worship, schools, hospital, prisons, women�s health clinics, mental health clinics, drug rehabilitation clinics and/or daycare facilities. Proposed office space cannot be located in a high crime area or area that will necessitate mor extensive and stringent building security than a generally progressive and alert neighborhood with a low crime rate. The propose building shall be in reasonable proximity to police and fire/medical response facilities that can allow for a response within 10 minutes. The floor load of the space being offered must be able to accommodate a very heavy vault or be able to be modified to accommodate the weight of such vault. The proposed space shall be contiguous. The Government will consider alternate space if economically advantageous to the Government.� In determining whether relocation will be economically advantageous, GSA will consider cost factors including, but not limited to, the total cost of the physical move, including telecommunications equipment and LAN systems, office furniture, security system and telephone system
