- Special Notice Special Notice Page 3 of 3 Special Notice *= Required Field Special Notice Page 1 of 3 The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Texas Heart Institute s Center (THI) for Preclinical Surgical & Interventional Research to provide Surgical Interventions/Training Sheep. Surgical training workshop on sheep housing, animal care, surgical procedures, and specialized equipment for sheep to include: Animal Laboratory Costs, Estimate from LAC per case, three (3) required. Members of the Research and Development team will travel from Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Chicago, IL to the vendor s facility to receive animal surgical specialized training. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13 Limited Source Justification Approval and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. Other entities may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement no later than 02/09/2022 at 10:00 a.m. CST. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all interested entities submitting a response to this notice must do so no later than the period specified for consideration. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received because of the notice of intent will normally be considered for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements.
