THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE � THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT�S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN ATMOSPHERIC RESEARCH, LLC (STAR) FOR MODERNIZATION AND TESTING SUPPORT SERVICES The Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Science and Technology in Atmospheric Research, LLC (STAR), 3125 Sterling CIR STE 107, Boulder, Colorado 80301 (DUNS: 965034692, CAGE: 6BK45). In order to meet the Government�s mission, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) requires modernization, testing, training, maintenance and support of the Atmospheric Modeling System (AMS), also known as the Meteorological Modeling System (MMS). �STAR has developed and maintained the current AMS system for over ten years and has substantial and intricate contracts and agreements linked to maintaining the current AMS and developing the new, open source AMS, in addition to the only technology to provide interior modeling capabilities through airflow modeling. Having a new vendor potentially compete to develop and maintain STAR�s current AMS and new AMS, in addition to compliance with DODI 8510.01, would take many years. The Contracting Officer has determined that Science and Technology in Atmospheric Research, LLC has the capability to not only meet all salient requirements for AMS but also is the only vendor that can satisfy the requirement; therefore, only one source will be solicited. � � This procurement will be issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.5 under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. �The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 541990, All Other Professional, Scientific and Technical Services. �Small Business Size Standard of $15.0M. �This is a commercial item. �The estimated amount for this procurement ranges from $350,000.00 to $450,000.00.00 for a 6-month period of performance from 13 February 2022 to 12 August 2022. � This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.
