N0016422SNB33 � REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) � SU-255/U LONG RANGE NIGHT VISION DEVICE UPGRADE OR REPLACEMENT � FSC 5855 � NAICS 334511 Issue Date: 23 February 2022 � Closing Date: 23 March 2022 SPECIAL NOTICE � REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) - Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NSWC-CD) located at the Naval Support Activity, Crane, Indiana as part of market research Request for Information for the upgrade or replacement of SU-255/U Long Range Night Vision Device (LRNVD). The SU-255/U is a long-range image intensified night vision system designed to mount to a permanent fixture on-board ship for a wide variety of night observation missions to detect, identify, and engage enemy targets in low-light and/or no-light environments at longer ranges. When not in use, the device is designed to remove from the permanent shipboard fixture and be secured. The SU-255/U is equipped with a Gen III 18mm image intensifier and utilizes a binocular eyepiece configuration from the AN/PVS-7C goggle that allows simultaneous viewing of the image with both eyes with an individual eyepiece shield to provide protection against night back glow. The SU-255/U utilize a yoke and pintle assembly mount to enable movement in azimuth and elevation. The pintle mounts into a bracket and lock assembly that is typically mounted on the ship�s signal bridge. The upgrade or replacement LRNVD shall be capable to be shipboard mounted and consist of objective lens assembly, battery housing, image intensifier tube, binocular eyepiece, mounting system, lens covers, batteries, lens cleaning kit, carrying/storage case and reticle. The attached are high-level requirements utilized for the previous SU-255/U procurements. The attached previous SU-255 high-level requirements are for vendors to reference to develop white paper responses describing market current and desired capabilities. The Government development of the replacement SU-255/U requirement will consider the white paper response.� The sensor types are not limited to image intensifier tube or forward looking infrared technologies. Research and assessments intend to maintain existing Concepts of Operations and/or Procedures as the SU-255/U LRNVD. The Government is seeking information from vendors with the capabilities to meet or exceed the requirements as described herein. Responses should include availability, budgetary cost estimate, and lead-time of the solution. All interested parties are strongly encouraged to submit a white paper. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED.
