- COMPETITIVE COMBINED SYNOPSIS / SOLICITATION Title: Brand-Name Biotage V-10 Touch System or equal to the Biotage V-10 Touch System/Automated Laboratory Evaporator RFQ: 75N95022Q00121 (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is 75N95022Q00121 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This acquisition is for a commercial item and is conducted under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13Simplified Acquisition Procedures; and FAR Part 12Acquisition of Commercial Items, and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) Number 2022-02, with effective date January 14, 2022 (iv) The associated NAICS code 334516 and the small business size standard 1,000 employees. This requirement is set-aside for small business. DESCRIPTION (v) As NCATS is making progress in adapting some of the goals outlined in the Automated Synthesis Platform for Innovative Research and Execution (ASPIRE) initiative, a significant effort has been spent in identifying gaps in our medicinal chemistry labs that need to be filled in order for automation to be successful. Currently, we have a system that can evaporate high boiling solvents generated by various chemistry processes from multiple samples in automation. Evaporative systems such as the Biotage V-10 Touch rapidly dry samples dissolved in both aqueous and organic solvents. It easily evaporates HPLC fractions from purification rapidly and can do this in automation. It can be utilized to dry-down compounds onto silica for easier dry load capabilities prior to purification with silica gel chromatography. It also removes high boiling point organic solvents such as DMSO (or DMF or NMP) in minutes from synthesis; it can also recover small samples of compounds after acquiring NMR spectra in DMSO. Besides speed, the advantage over blow-down units that we currently have is that the evaporation can be done without increasing the temperature of the sample. The rapid turnaround time will enable rapid sequential same-day multistep synthesis with quick isolation and identification of intermediate. As our workload has increased exponentially, we find we have need of a second evaporator unit to avoid bottlenecks in workflow. (vi) Generic Name of Product: Automated Laboratory Evaporator Purchase Description: For reference purposes, the normal phase flash purifications chromatography system with automated mass directed fraction collection that meets the need of this requirement is the Brand-Name Biotage V-10 Touch System described below: Part Number (PN) QTD Description V-10-2xx 1 V-10 Touch System 414865 1 V-10 Solvent Manager Upgrade 411816 1 Gilson Liquid Handler GX271 V10 414867 1 Kit, Start-Up for Liquid Handlers, V-10 Touch 416009SP 1 Hi-vac, oil free scroll pump, 100-240V 413146 1 External vacuum pump connection kit for Vaccubrand and Edwards hi-vac. pumps 415082 1 110/120-230 VAC Step-up Transformer SER-V10-FYMP 1 First Year Maintenance Package Biotage V-10 The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that equal products must meet are as follows: Automated laboratory evaporator system Walk-up, walk-away capability Does not require liquid-liquid extraction steps Removes high boiling point solvents (e.g. water, DMSO, DMF, NMP) from organic samples typically generated in medicinal chemistry laboratories using vacuum at ambient temperatures. The system must be capable of automatically evaporating solvents in parallel or sequentially from multiple samples. The system must have the adaptability to use its evaporative technology to remove solvents from an HPLC rack of test tubes or from a flask with a high volume of solvent in automation. Capable of removing small samples of compounds after acquiring NMR spectra in DMSO. Provides same-day multistep synthesis Fully equal in capabilities (capacity, speed, integration with existing control and automation systems) as the currently installed Biotage V-10 Touch System, which includes the V-10 Solvent Manager upgrade and Gilson Liquid Handler. Footprint not to exceed 15.7W x 19D x 21D Must have double trapping exhaust Must have a heating range of 20-70C Must be able to handle speed of 3000 8000 RPM Shipping and Handling.
