Description
Overview: This Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for information and planning purposes to conduct market research and identify interested parties and their capability to support training for United States Government personnel. Interested vendors are expected to supply the Government with any required software licenses. Additionally, vendors are expected to identify and designate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that will participate in ongoing correspondence providing responses to technical questions in areas detailed in the Vehicle/System Modelling, Simulation, and User Interface Design list detailed below. Purpose: To establish a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement(s) (CRADA) or similar agreements with NUWC Keyport (working in conjunction with other Navy Warfare Centers) to facilitate training and tool development in two primary areas associated with the design, simulation, test and evaluation of technologies associated with Autonomous Undersea Vehicles. Once selected, agreement holders will work collaboratively with Navy Engineers and Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) operators to develop processes for quickly designing, modelling, simulating, and building low cost Autonomous UUVs and their corresponding user interfaces using current state-of-the-art modelling and simulation tools. The Navy, or specifically authorized Government personnel, will provide direct feedback on tools, capabilities, effectiveness as well as identifying potential areas for tool enhancement and/or improvements. The findings may be used to help support the rapid design, test and fielding of additively manufactured AUVs/UUVs. The Government will provide necessary technical data (Govt owned AUV/UUV CAD files) to facilitate this tasking. As appropriate, co-authored, publicly released white papers would be developed and presented describing the workflow associated with various tools and their utilization in support of AUV/UUV development/modelling/testing etc. The Government has identified currently known key areas of emphasis; see attachment.
