OVERVIEW THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This notice is not a solicitation for a proposal, proposal abstract, or quote and does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this notice voluntary and cannot be accepted by the U.S. Government to form a binding contract. The responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. Additionally, the U.S. Government will not provide reimbursement for any information that may be submitted in response to this request for information. Respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this source sought. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. REQUIREMENT Background: The Maritime Administration (MARAD)/U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) is a federal service academy that educates and graduates licensed Merchant Marine officers of exemplary character who serve America�s marine transportation and defense needs in peace and war. The USMMA campus consists of 82 acres along the Long Island shoreline, about 50 buildings, waterfront structures and facilities, berthing of vessels and small craft and athletic fields. Purpose and Objectives: The purpose of the sources sought is to help determine the interest level amongst businesses with 7 + years� experience that can provide mechanical services to remove two (2) existing hot water heating boilers and replace with four (4) new boilers. Project Requirement: In accordance with the New York State Environmental and safety regulations, the project includes the following:�������� Boiler Removal - Disassemble, remove, and dispose of Boiler # 1 and Boiler #2. Temporary Piping - A temporary 6� piping exists as part of the boiler rental configuration. This piping is to remain in place as�� a back-up until the new boilers are installed.� Once the existing boilers are removed and the new boilers are installed, the temporary piping, hangers, and associated cabling is to be disconnected and removed.� Boiler Replacement - Coordinate the footprint of the new boilers and associated access requirements with the existing pads and extend the (2) 6� boiler pads as required. Provide and install a fully functional primary hot water plant including (4) natural gas fired high mass, high mass nominal 6,000 MBH fire tube high efficiency condensing boilers. Other - Provide a full warranty for the new boiler system for parts and labor for two (2) years. The contractor shall have an approved boiler manufacturer repair service provider located within a 50-mile radius of the USMMA campus capable of responding to service calls.��������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� Provide five (5) 8-hour days of training for USMMA personnel by October 1, 2022 in preparation for the fall heating season. PLACE OF�PERFORMANCE USMMA/Fulton Hall 300 Steamboat Road Kings Point, NY 11024 CAPABILITY STATEMENT/INFORMATION SOUGHT If interested, please submit a capability statement demonstrating capacity to complete the requirement. The Capability Statement shall meet the following criteria: Company information - Company name, address, phone number, DUNS number and point of contact (name, phone, and e-mail). Must be in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Adobe PDF format, single spaced, 11-point font (excluding charts and graphics). The Capability Statement shall not exceed ten (10) pages in length (including attachments, charts, etc.). Identify (a) work experience; (b) staff expertise; (c) capacity to perform the work; (d) prior completed projects of similar nature; (e) examples of prior completed Government contracts, references, and other related information. DISCLAIMER AND IMPORTANT NOTES This Sources Sought does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise reimburse for information provided in the response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure the response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization�s qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. Responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. �CONFIDENTIALITY Proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should not be included in the response.
