Special Notice Special Notice Page 5 of 5 Special Notice *INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE* This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source the following requirement: Reference # 36C24522Q0348 Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source (except brand name) and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Contracting Officers may solicit from only one source if the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand name, or industrial mobilization). This is not a request for proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the government to pay for costs incurred from the preparation and/or submission of data in response to this notice. Written responses to this Notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. Information received in response to this Notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. STATEMENT OF WORK CONTRACT TITLE: Commission on Cancer Accreditation Fee BACKGROUND AND SCOPE: VAMHCS has been an accredited American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) medical center for several years. VAMHCS must pay an annual accreditation fee every year in order to maintain accreditation and support from the CoC. Accredited programs receive notable benefits from the CoC that enhance their cancer program. These include: National Recognition Organized Care: The CoC offers cancer programs an organizational model for the delivery of comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. Quality Improvement Measures: Participation in the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB) and access to Comparison Benchmark Reports and other resource tools enable Commission-accredited programs to compare their quality of care and improve performance based on nationally recognized quality measures and standards of care. Data Analysis: Participation in CoC special studies that are developed to address important issues in cancer care. Public Awareness By paying the annual accreditation fee, VAMHCS will continue to be an accredited cancer care center through the American College of Surgeons, CoC. The CoC will continue to support the VAMHCS cancer program. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Base plus two option years. Base Year Time of Award through the following year Annual 365 days Option Year 1 No more than 5 days prior to the expiration of the Base Year s end date Option Year 2 No more than 5 days prior to the expiration of the Option Year 1 end date PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Baltimore VA Medical Center 10 N.
