- Description
- Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. (Leidos Biomed) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research to identify potential organizations to support The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Genomic Data Commons (GDC). NCI has requested services of Leidos Biomed to initiate management and execution of the NCI GDC. Leidos Biomed is seeking organizations with experience in supporting one or more of the following areas on the NCI GDC project. Organizations are encouraged to submit a response for any of these areas of capabilities and need not have experience in all areas to submit a response: Front End Design and Development Scientific Analysis Tool Integration Production Data Processing Description of Work: The NCI GDC (https://gdc.cancer.gov) is a repository and cancer knowledge base established by the NCI Center for Cancer Genomics (CCG) to support the hosting, standardization, and distribution of genomic and clinical data from cancer research programs. The mission of the GDC is to provide the cancer research community with a unified data repository that enables data sharing across cancer genomic studies in support of precision medicine. Working towards this mission, the GDC aims to provide a cancer knowledge base that enables the identification of both high and low frequency cancer drivers, assists in defining genomic determinants of response to therapy, and informs the composition of clinical trial cohorts sharing targeted genetic lesions. The GDC aims to expand current capabilities to support: User interface design and development for front end components of the GDC Adoption of innovative and scalable web-based analysis tools to operate within the GDC Analysis Tool Framework High throughput production-level data processing of next generation sequencing data using GDC workflows Expansion of these capabilities will further grow the GDC as a cancer knowledge base and result in increased efficiencies in data generation and release.
