Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD announces its intention to procure F/A-18E/F Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Block II Special Tooling (ST) to support increased production of the final assembly of the fully intergrated IRST Block II pod. Potential offerors would �be required to design, build, or aquire ST to aid in the final assemably of the �IRST Block II Pod. The anticipated period of performance is for twenty four months starting in FY 2022.� Requirements include familiarity with the design, configuration, and integration of EA-18G aircraft.� Manufacturing knowledge, experience, and technical data are required to fulfill this procurement within the time required. The Government did not procure the technical data for the EA-18G aircraft, so any interested business would have to negotiate for access to and use of that data from the original supplier, The Boeing Company, in order to fulfill the potential requirement in the time required. The effort intended to be procured will satisfy the Government�s minimum need. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. �THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES IN ANY FORM ARE NOT OFFERS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY.�ANY CONTRACT ACTIONS THAT THE GOVERNMENT MAY INTEND TO PROCURE IN THE FUTURE WILL BE SYNOPSIZED ON THE GOVERNMENTWIDE POINT OF ENTRY (GPE) AS APPLICABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR 5.201(b).
