Description
This contract involves the removal, disposal, and replacement of TWO cover structures over both the seed cooler and tree cooler. New cooler covers shall be made up of 14 gauge tube steel, vertical A frame construction, and be 15 feet wide by 38 feet long, each. The seed cooler(building 2608) shall have a 9 foot high clearance (clearance to lowest underside roof structure/truss/angled support brackets), and the tree cooler (building 2609) shall have 11 foot high clearance. Roofing panels shall be 29 gauge coated metal. The roofing color and trim is to be dark or medium brown. If pandemic supply issues make brown roofing unavailable or cost prohibitive, green is the alternate color choice. There will be two separate structures/covers: one over each refrigeration unit. Roofing must have a 6:12 pitch and any ribs in the roofing panel must run vertically so as to naturally shed water and snow (perpendicular to the ridgeline or more commonly referred to as A Frame Vertical). Covers shall be properly anchored into the ground surface in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. All roofing screws shall be gasketed and applied with an approved metal roofing sealant on top of the screws after installation. The refrigeration units are sitting on separate concrete pads and the covers shall be securely anchored to the ground surface outside/adjacent to the concrete pads. The ground surface is a mix of dirt, rock, and gravel. Demolition and subsequent new construction will have to be worked around the existing coolers. At no time will the power to the coolers be interrupted. All precautions must be taken to ensure no damage occurs to the coolers during this work. The old cooler cover structures can be removed up to 3 days before the installation of the new cover structures. If measurable precipitation is predicted between the time of the cover removal and the start of the new cover installation, then the units must be covered. Covers shall be waterproof, secured in place so as not to be blown off by wind or allow rainwater to fall directly onto any electrical components. Covers cannot interfere with the cooling fans located at the back of the units. note: current aerial electrical connections (as depicted in the project photos) will be moved to underground trenches prior to structure replacement. PROJECT LOCATION Mt. Adams Ranger District (MARD): The address for this work is as follows: 2455 HWY 141, Trout Lake, WA 98650
