Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract, set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a Single Source. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District intends to solicit and award a sole source contract for the rebuild of a reduction gear for the M/V Fountain City (Twin Disc model MG-521, BOM# R33860B, Serial # 3K1271) to Palmer Johnson Power Systems, LLC, 1835 Haynes Dr., Sun Prairie, WI 53590-3909. The anticipated delivery date will be two weeks from date of contract.� In order to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers � St. Paul District mission to maintain navigable waterways, the M/V Fountain City, an essential component of the Dredge Goetz Fleet, must be fully operational prior to May 1, 2022, the start of dredging season. The installation of the rebuilt reduction gear will be performed by Government personnel. The M/V Fountain City is currently at the USACE Fountain City Service Base and is not operational due to the broken reduction gear. Palmer Johnson Power Systems, LLC is the only known source able to rebuild the broken reduction gear, or supply an operable replacement gear in the time frame required. � This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
