- This sources sought synopsis is issued solely for information and planning purposes to gain knowledge of potential sources capable of fully satisfying a potential requirement. This is not a solicitation announcement nor does it promise a solicitation in the future. Quotes/Proposals are not being requested or accepted at this time and a contract will not be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. All submissions will become Government property and will not be returned. The government will not provide any feedback or evaluations regarding the information submitted. The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking contractors with extensive specialized experience in sprinkler system improvements, fire protection, code compliance and alternative compliance methods as they pertain to historic buildings. The AOC Is requesting the Architect Engineering (A/E) Team provide their capability statements showing project experience in the design of sprinkler and fire suppression systems and/or MEP systems for historic buildings.� Historic buildings for purposes of this sources sought is defined as; a minimum of 100 years old, and of solid bearing wall construction, of similar type and scale as the US Capitol. The AOC requests the A/E Team show a minimum of three (3), but no more than five (5), such projects with a design completion date, no older than 15 years from the date of issuance, of this sources sought. A minimum of one (1) project shall involve fire protection systems.� The AOC is also seeking an A/E Team with a fire protection engineer showing project experience designing fire protection systems for historic buildings (historic bldg. as defined in above paragraph).� It is considered desirable that the A/E Team would have previously partnered with the Fire Protection Engineer.� Response Requirements Prior Government contract work is not required for submitting a response under this sources sought notice.� Responses to this Synopsis shall be limited to a maximum of 10-pages (11 point minimum, Times New Roman font) and shall include the following information: Contractor�s name, address, point of contact, phone number, e-mail address, and capability to perform a contract of this magnitude and complexity, and sufficient information to demonstrate the ability to fulfill the requirement. The submission shall capture requested project experience as spoken to in the above paragraphs.� Standard brochures will not be considered a sufficient response to this notice. Interested firms should submit an electronic copy of the requested information via e-mail to the Contracting Officer, Laurie Harvey laurie.harvey@aoc.gov, no later than April 21, 2022. �Any attempt to hand deliver or mail a response to any location in the U.S Capitol Complex will be rejected.
