- Description
- This is a market survey to identify whether there are any sources of supply (manufacturers or suppliers) other than Rockwell Collins, Inc. (CAGE Code 13499), the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the AN/VRC-100(V)1 Advanced HF Ground / Vehicular Communications System, have capability to supply a spare part for the AN/VRC-100(V)1. The spare parts being procured are NSN 5998-01-442-2938, Part Number (P/N) 752-9595-001, Electronic Component Assembly (ECA) Case and NSN 5998-01-435-2306, Part Number (P/N) 751-8981-001, Electronic Component Assembly (ECA), Power Supply. AN/VRC-100(V)1 is a microprocessor-based communications system. The AN/VRC-100(V)1 uses advanced digital signal processor (DSP) technology. The AN/VRC-100(V)1 receives and transmits on any one of 280 000 frequencies spaced at 100-Hz steps in the high frequency (HF) band (2.0000 to 29.9999 MHz). An operator can manually configure communications channels. The nets are pre-programmed as part of the communications mission load data. Communications are possible using either simplex or half-duplex operation. The AN/VRC-100(V)1 provides Upper sideband (USB) voice, lower sideband (LSB) voice, amplitude modulation equivalent (AME), continuous wave (CW), USB data, and LSB data emission modes. Standard and advanced narrow-band digital voice terminals (ANDVT) are supported. An audio data port supports interface with the airborne target handoff system (ATHS). Digital data interfaces allow transmission and reception of data from improved data modem (IDM) and data secured by AIRTERM (KY-100). These items are only defined by Rockwell Collins, Inc. part number and National Stock Number. Detail technical data such as engineering drawings, specifications, and acceptance test procedure for the manufacture and acceptance of these items, are NOT AVAILABLE from the Army. Interested sources that are capable of manufacturing or supplying the items specified above must submit enough information to demonstrate their capability to manufacture or supply this items. At a minimum, information submitted should include but is not limited to the following types of documentation: drawing, test results and test procedures for these items demonstrating the interested sources capability of supplying these items; copy of purchasing order if the supplier was a vendor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with a unit that will be physically and functionally interchangeable and interoperable with the existing AN/VRC-100(V)1 Radio Set; and the responses to the questionnaire attached. The information received from this market survey will be evaluated by the Government for the purpose of planning to determine if responsible sources exist, and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for Small Business. The Government will also use the information, in part, to determine the best acquisition strategy for a potential procurement action and to assist in making future acquisition strategy decisions.
