- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This is not a request for competitive proposals/quotes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), hereby announces its intent to issue a sole source order/contract to The Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 813920, Professional Organizations, with a size standard of $16.5M. In 2016, the National Academies review of NIOSH programs identified two priority activities:� the need for surveillance data as the evidence-base for occupational health research and intervention activities, and the need to ensure the translation, transfer and use of knowledge into effective products and practices for the prevention of occupational illness and injury.� To address these needs, NIOSH continues to seek and work with partners with the capabilities to multiply its efforts and apply the evidence to enhance the practice of occupational public health. Organizations such as the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC) have close communications with those engaged with the day-to-day practice of occupational health are essential for NIOSH to retain and enhance its role in the dissemination of practical solutions to occupational health problems. The contractor will support evidence-based occupational public health practice and promote prevention of occupational illness and injury. This will be accomplished through maintaining and regularly updating an exposure code list and an on-line �look-up� of exposure codes for occupational public health practice and surveillance purposes. Period of Performance will include a 12-month base period with a 12-month optional period.� See Sole Source Justification. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and is solely in the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov This action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted prior to the closure of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
