- NON COMPETITIVE MEMORANDUM FOR SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTIONS IAW FAR 13.106-3(b)(3) �REQUIRING AGENCY � DOJ/Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution Dublin NATURE/DESCRIPTION OF ACTION BEING APPROVED � This action is for the acquisition of parts and labor needed to repair the GE mammography machine system located at 5701 8th St. Camp parks, Dublin, Ca 94568. Ge healthcare technologies are the sole provider of certified service technicians for their equipment. GE will not guarantee and install products purchased from other vendors. GE will not honor any previous warranties or service work provided if equipment is worked on by a non GE Certified technician. DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES OR SERVICES REQUIRED TO MEET THE AGENCY�S NEEDS �GE healthcare shall supply and install the necessary parts for the Repair of the mammography machine. IDENTIFICATION OF STATUTORY AUTHORITY PERMITTING OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION �41 U.S.C. 253( c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. DEMONSTRATION THAT THE PROPOSED CONTRACTOR�S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR THE NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES USE OF THE AUTHORITY CITED: The Mammography machine is manufactured by GE Medical Systems and therefore the repair must be performed by a GE Medical Systems authorized repair technician and the replacement parts must be purchased for the same vendor. While GE Medical Systems has a Federal Supply Schedule, replacement parts and services are not covered. The manufacturer has stated that they are the only company authorized to service their equipment. DETERMINATION BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER THAT THE ANTICIPATED COST TO THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE FAIR AND REASONABLE: The Contracting officer anticipates the cost to the government will be fair and reasonable. **PROCUREMENT TYPE: �SPECIAL NOTICE ONLY THIS NOTICE IS NEITHER A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR A SOLICITATION FOR OFFERS
