Solicitation # HHSNIHOPCSBSS-22-007745 Date Posted 4/11/2022 Date Closed �4/ 18/2022 This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC),Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price Reagent Supplies, with Cepheid. Cepheid, is the sole manufacturer, vendor, and service provider for the GeneXpert 4-drawer and GeneXpert 12-drawer instrumentation. These instruments provide rapid, efficient, and sensitive extraction of nucleic acid from clinical samples, which allow for timely identification of the presence of infectious agents and hastens treatment. As sole developer and manufacturer of these, Cepheid is the only vendor from which purchase of reagent and supplies associated with these existing instruments can be made. The purpose of this correspondence is to request a PO to purchase a reagent kits and supplies from Cepheid is needed for clinical patient care testing by the Microbiology Service in the DLM. The proposed vendor, Cepheid, is the This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date, April 18,1022 at 11:00 EST specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Priscilla Abalos, Contract Specialist, Priscilla.abalos@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
