- THIS SOURCES SOUGHT/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS ISSUED FOR INFORMATON AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A SOLICITATION. The purpose of this source sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of businesses that are capable of satisfying the following work requirements: Performance Work Statement Fire and Smoke Damper Location Survey Successful bidder will survey the air distribution systems for B200, B200E, B203, B204, B205, B206, B207, B210, B232, B248, and B255 to locate all fire and smoke dampers in the system. Successful bidder (hereafter referred to as surveyor) will mark the ceiling grid where dampers are found and where no marker exists, photograph and document the location on drawings while providing a list broken down by building and floor listing all fire and smoke dampers and their locations. Sample report table provided below. Survey will take place at Togus VAMC, 1 VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330 Survey will occur Monday through Friday between 7 am and 3:30 pm unless otherwise coordinated in advance with the COR. Nights or weekend will be required in the following spaces. Refer to attached floor plans for indication (areas shown in red) of impacted areas. Areas not listed below shall be completed during regular business hours. B200 1N Orthopedic 2S clinic, 2n SCI Clinic, Blood Draw 3W, Same Day Surgery 4N Chemo, 4W Cardiology 5S Endo, 5N Dental 6N Clinical B200E 1st Nuc Med, SPS 2nd PT, ENT 3rd OR/IR B205 1E, Women s Clinic 2nd Floor south side corridor Primary Care 3rd Floor NW corner Comp and Pen B206 1st Floor Clinical B255, Neurology Night only, no weekend option; B204 1st or 2nd Floor Kitchen areas Surveyor will provide with the proposal a proposed schedule for completion of the survey work for review. Final submission, review and approval of schedule will be required after award and prior to the start of the onsite survey. Only two ceiling tiles at a time may be dislodged as part of the survey effort. No open ceiling tile/access panel or ladder may be left unattended. Do not open ceiling tiles in a patient space while patient is in the space. Coordinate with the COR when ceiling tiles need to be accessing in occupied inpatient spaces. Cover working surfaces with plastic in the following areas prior to opening ceiling tiles or access panels. B200 3W, Same Day Surgery 4N Chemo 5S Endo, 5N Dental B200E 1st Nuc Med, SPS 3rd OR/IR Testing and/or verification of functionality of dampers is not included in this contract. Mark existing damper locations on the ceiling grid with colored marker: Access Identification Markers: Colored markers with pressure sensitive adhesive on one side, paper or plastic, 6 to 9Â mm (1/4 to 3/8Â inch) diameter. Orange for fire and smoke dampers. Install color coded markers to identify the fire/smoke Attach colored markers to exposed grid on opposite sides of the units providing access. Attach marker on exposed ceiling surface of upward access acoustical unit. When accessing MRI (B200 - 1S) coordinate with COR prior to access, no metal may enter the MRI suite and access is controlled. Surveyor shall adhere to all Covid 19 protocol including but not limited to masking and screening. Protocols subject to change. Coordinate with COR before arrival on station. Surveyor shall obtain and wear/display at all times VA Flash badge. Deliverable: Two hard copy 3-ring bound printed reports that include inventory list of all dampers grouped by building including photographs, and drawings diagraming approximate locations of dampers. Two CD copies of report including drawings in Auto cadd and pdf format. Period of Performance: Field work to be completed in 60 calendar days. Deliverables to be received 14 calendar days after completion of field work. Total period of performance from contract award to close out 90 calendar days. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. Responses to this sources sought/RFI are due by 9am EST time on April 18, 2022. Responses to this notice shall be submitted via email to Kenya.Mitchell1@va.gov. Telephone responses shall not be accepted. If a solicitation is issued it shall be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this request for information. Responses to this notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541350 and a small size standard of $8 million.
