Description
The purpose of this project is to provide the Cleveland National Forest (Forest) with survey data and technical support for the removal of exotic aquatic animals that are detrimental to the federally endangered Arroyo Toad (ARTO), and other native aquatic or riparian species that are present within Cedar Creek and Kelly Creek. The Cleveland National Forest (approximately 450,000 acres) is located within Orange, Riverside and San Diego Counties.� Specific areas to be included in the exotic aquatic species surveys and control efforts include Cedar Creek and Kelly Creek which are located within the Forest�s Palomar Ranger District the Forest�s Palomar Ranger District near the community of Ramona in eastern San Diego County. The project area includes the National Forest System lands only.� There are approximately 9 pools that are expected to need removal of exotic aquatic animals (see maps for a depiction of pools in Cedar Creek, there are additional pools in Kelly Creek that are not depicted).� These are accessible by Forest roads and trails, and remote camping is allowed in the work areas.� Portions of the work area may be subject to closures during periods of extremely hot weather (over 90 degrees F).� Some pools are easily accessible from adjacent roads, and some will require hiking up to approximately 5 miles round trip.�� The Period of Performance for this exotic aquatic species removal and subsequent reporting contract will be date of award to September 30, 2023. Submission must be received not later than April 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM Pacific�via email at cree.prevost@usda.gov. See FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, for submission requirements.
