- Description
- This announcement is not a notice of solicitation issuance. This is a Request for Information (RFI) for market research purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). A solicitation is not being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. This RFI is being published to identify potential sources capable of providing support to the existing conceptual design models of payloads, working with leaders across the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) / Munitions Directorate Capability Concept Integration and Management Branch (RWPI) Office, which directly supports AFRL/RW. The Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate Capability Concept Integration and Management Branch (AFRL/RWPI) anticipates releasing Call #1 RFP against Broad Agency Announcement FA8651-22-S-0001 for conceptual design models of payloads. Tasks/Objectives: The objective of the AFRL High Speed Strike Weapon 2 (HSSW2) Airframe, Guidance, Navigation, and Control (AGNC) research area is to develop, demonstrate, and transition munition AGNC technologies associated with high-speed air-to-surface weapons. These technologies intend to enable accurate and survivable long-range engagement of high value ground targets using hypersonic and near-hypersonic air-launched munitions. The goal of this activity is to develop technology improvements and transition critical subsystem components that enable integrated demonstration of high-speed air-launched concepts by the Air Force. A significant aspect of this process is to perform, within AFRL, closed-loop guidance and control simulation and testing to establish the maturity and benefit of the technology, thereby reducing risk in transition to Programs of Record. The CSAW seeker testbed developed within will allow closed-loop development and demonstration of high-speed weapon government reference concepts in AFRLs Kinetic-kill Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulator (KHILS). The CSAW subsystem will be a state-of-the-art reconfigurable representation of RF terminal seeker technology with the flexibility to explore various modes of operation and coupling to associated airframe, guidance, and control functions. Proposals are desired by AFRL to develop, integrate, and deliver the CSAW Testbed. A more detailed Statement of Objectives is available to companies with requisite experience developing missile seeker technology and verified to meet anticipated program security constraints. Instructions: To indicate positive interest or submit questions in regards to this requirement, please submit the following to Air Force Research Lab (AFRL/RWPI): Capability Statement Businesses are requested to submit a capability statement that demonstrates technical capability for completing the task/objects provided for in this announcement. Past Performance Identify previous contracts that are relevant to the scope of this effort. Include contract numbers and title of effort. Point of Contact (POC) Name, telephone number, and email address along with company name, CAGE Code, and facility clearance. The government will pull representations and certifications from sam.gov to verify company status and ensure company possesses appropriate facility clearance for more discussions and potential invitation to industry day and one-on-ones discussions. Required Information: This request may not directly lead to a Request for Proposal (RFP). Any interested party that can offer all of the above may submit an electronic written reply (unclassified), of no more than 2 pages in total length, to address capability statement and past performance, double spaced, 12-point font, and accessible either through Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat. A cover page should provide for items requested in paragraph 3. Total of 3 pages maximum.
