- This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only.� This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal.� This request does not obligate the Government in any contract award.� The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District is issuing the sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support the requirement for maintenance dredging.� The result this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement.� The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned this procurement is 237990 � Dredging and Surface Cleanup Activities.� The Product Service Code is Z1KF � Maintenance of Dredging Facilities.� The Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) Maintenance Dredging Contract provides construction services, including furnishing personnel, transportation, mobilization and demobilization, equipment and materials required in connection with maintenance dredging.� This contract has been traditionally performed with a hydraulic cutterhead dredge and the duration is expected to be nine months from time of award.� An estimated one-million (1,000,000) cubic yards of maintenance material is expected to be removed from the AIWW. The work is located within the Savannah and Charleston District�s portion of the AIWW shallow draft waterway in the states of Georgia and South Carolina.� The AIWW in Savannah District begins in Port Royal Sound, South Carolina (Mile 552) and ends in Cumberland Sound, Georgia (Mile 713).� The AIWW in Charleston District begins at the North Carolina/South Carolina Border (Station 0+00) and ends in Port Royal Sound (Station 11282+08).� The AIWW is 12 feet deep MLLW with widths from 90 feet in land cuts to 150 feet in natural waterways. Maintenance dredging will be performed in the following selected sites on the AIWW; Watts Cut, Fenwick Cut, Ashepoo Coosaw Cuttoff, Fields Cut, and Cumberland Dividing.� The maintenance material from Fields Cut (mile 573.3 to mile 575.5) will be placed in Dredged Material Containment Area 14B which is adjacent to the dredging site. The maintenance material in Cumberland Dividing (mile 703.0 to mile 706.0) will be placed in Big Crab Island Dredged Material Containment Area (mile 707.0) at Navy Sub Base at Kings Bay, Georgia.� The maintenance material from Watts Cut (Station 8530+00 to 8667+00) can be placed in adjacent upland dredged material placement areas 1717 C-P, 1743 C-P, 1764 C-P, 1820 C-P or 1835 C-P. The maintenance material from Fenwick Cut (Station 9043+00 to 9055+00) and will be placed in adjacent upland dredged material placement area 2237 C-P. The maintenance material in Ashepoo Coosaw Cuttoff (Station 9310+00 to 9380+00) and can be placed in adjacent upland dredged material placement area 2461 C-P, 2508 C-P, 2536 C-P or 2564 C-P.
