- This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 in response to the mandatory requirement for a 15-day notification.� The purpose of this synopsis is to announce that the U.S. Army Contracting Command � Rock Island, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems, intends to purchase the following: M772 Mechanical Time Super Quick (MTSQ) Fuze, Part Number 12624567 M776 Mechanical Time Super Quick (MTSQ) Fuze, Part Number 12361000 The M772 MTSQ Fuze is used in production of the 81mm M819 Red Phosphorous Smoke Mortar Cartridge and 81mm M816/M853A1 Illuminating Mortar Cartridges.� The M776 MTSQ Fuze is used in production of the 60mm M721/M767 Illuminating Mortar Cartridges and 120mm M930/M983 Illuminating Mortar Cartridges. This award will result in a single Firm Fixed Price contract for FY 2023 requirements as the base year with a base year option, and four evaluated option periods covering FY 2023 - FY 2027 for both the M772 and M776 Mechanical Time Super Quick Fuze requirements and any subsequent FY requirements that may arise and be covered under the five-year total of the contract. The U.S. Government intends to procure up to approximately 63,800 M772 Fuzes and 113,800 M776 fuzes over the five year contract.� Negotiations will be restricted to Junghans Microtech GmbH, Dunningen, Germany.� Competition is being restricted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B).� Other than full and open competition is necessary due to unavailability of a complete Technical Data Packages (TDP) suitable for competitive solicitation of the M772 and M776 MTSQ Fuzes. The TDP for the M772 and M776 MTSQ Fuzes is restricted to the incumbent producer, as the U.S. Government only possess the top level drawing for both fuzes along with associated specifications. A determination by the U.S. Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Responsible Sources may submit a capability statement. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by May 2, 2022 will be considered.
