Description

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Fryer Machine Systems, 70 Jon Barrett Rd., Patterson, NY 12563 (Cage Code: 69312) on a sole source basis in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), NAS North Island, CA has a requirement for the installation of Government-owned Glass Scales onto an existing Fryer Machine model 5X-120. Fryer Machine Systems is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the machine. The machine was custom-made, tailored, and modified to suit FRCSW requirements, which makes the machine unique from any other Fryer machine or commercial machine. The machine requires partial disassembly in order to install the glass scales,�and Fryer Machine Systems, as the OEM of this specific custom-made machine, retains proprietary knowledge of the unique design. The OEM is the only known qualified source capable of the installation of the Glass Scales onto the machine, and meeting the Government�s specific requirements. For this reason, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Fryer Machine Systems (Cage Code: 69312). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered.�� Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
