Description
PRE-SOLICITAITON NOTICE: THE NAVY INTENDS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE FIRM FIXED PRICE CONTRACT. � THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) PMA-265 (Program Office for F/A-18 & EA-18G Aircraft), has a requirement to procure: Quantity of 252 175 Amp Transformer Rectifier Units (TRUs) Approximately 12 units in support of Operational Testing Approximately 240 units for retrofit in support of F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G aircraft Approximately 200 hours of Engineering Support for Engineering Investigations NAVAIR intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Champion Aerospace LLC (CAGE 0AFL4) of Liberty, SC 29657.� Delivery of the Operational Test Units are anticipated to occur �within 3 months of contract award. Deliveries of the retrofit units will begin by 31 December 2022 and continue at a rate of 20 TRUs per month through �30 November 2023.� Engineering Investigation support will be ongoing from contract award through 30 November 2023. The procurement will be pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 3204 (a)(1) (formerly known as 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)) as implemented by Federal� Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.� Champion Aerospace LLC is the one firm who has been qualified by the United States Navy (USN) to provide 175 Amp TRUs for installation into F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G aircraft; as a result, Champion Aerospace is the only firm who can provide 175 Amp TRUs and the support for Engineering Investigations within the timeframes required by the USN.
