- This is a sources sought for W58RGZ-22-R-0134 High Performance Shock Strut of the AH-64 Apache Helicopter. The inspection and overhaul/repair can only be performed by an approved source in accordance with Defense Federal Acquisitions Regulations (DFARS) Subpart 209.2 - Qualification Requirements which implement quality control provisions of aviation critical safety items as stated in Public Law 108-136, dated November 2003. The statute requires overhaul by a source approved by the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD). Currently, Goodrich (CAGE Code: 02KZ1) and Boeing (CAGE Code 8V613) are the only known approved source for the inspection and overhaul/repair. The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal (W58RG) ATTN: CCAM-ALA, Building 5303 Martin Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5280 is issuing this Sources Sought synopsis as a means of conducting research to identify potential sources having an interest in submitting a Source Approval Request to SRD to become an approved source to overhaul/repair the High Performance Shock Strut, Part Number 1168100-509. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledge, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding submissions. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES IN ANY FORM ARE NOT OFFERS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES: The Government requires that contractors be able overhaul/repair the High Performance Shock Strut (HPSS), with Part Number: 1168100-509, NSN: 1620-01-535-3515. The HPSS is a Critical Safety Item (CSI). No Depot Maintenance Requirement (DMWR) has been identified for this requirement. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The contractor must have an approved Source Approval Request (SAR) by the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD). Additional information on SAR process is located at https://www.avmc.army.mil/Directorates/SRD/SAR/.� SUBMISSION DETAILS: Interested businesses should email a statement demonstrating its intention to submit a Source Approval Request to provide the products/systems listed in this Technical Description. No phone or email solicitations with regards to the status of the RFP will be accepted prior to its release. Your response to this Sources Sought, including any capabilities statement, shall be electronically submitted to the Contract Specialist, Ryan D. Hardy in either Microsoft Word or Portable Document Format (PDF), via email Ryan.D.Hardy6.civ@army.mil no later than the provided response date as referenced on https://sam.gov and reference this synopsis number in the subject line of the e-mail and on all enclosed documents. Information and materials submitted in response to this request WILL NOT be returned. DO NOT SUBMIT CLASSIFIED MATERIAL. If your organization has the potential capacity to provide the required products/systems, please provide the following information: 1) Organization name, address, primary points of contact (POCs) and their email address, Web site address, telephone number, and type of ownership for the organization; and 2) A brief statement confirming that you have an approved SAR.
