Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed for a yearly maintenance service and support for SCIPRINT VX2 Instrument from Scinomix, Inc. The Chronic Viral Diseases Branch (CVDB) uses the SCIPRINT VX2 instrument (from Scinomix, Inc.) to label storage vials and tubes at a high-throughput capacity. This instrument is vital to continue laboratory work on approved projects which support the mission to improve public health through focused research on Human Papillomavirus (HPV). CVDB oversees multiple surveillance studies, monitoring HPV prevalence in special populations (cancer, immunocompromised, etc.) and the general US population, analyzing the impact of vaccination to reduce the burden of HPV infection and HPV-related cancers. The data from these projects must be high quality by good sample collection, efficient specimen management, and high-quality laboratory testing from well-maintained instruments. CVDB has used Scinomix, Inc. for maintenance and support on the SciPrint VX2 since its purchase in 2013. The manufacturer, Scinomix, Inc., offers a maintenance service agreement to ensure SciPrint VX2 instrument and software perform optimally as original factory specifications. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of�FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 5 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to the contract specialist at�qlb5@cdc.gov�by COB 04/28/2022.
