- Port of Nome Modification Phase 1 W911KB23R0001 THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.� The US Army Engineer District, Alaska is conducting market research to facilitate�a determination of acquisition strategy.� The determination of acquisition strategy for this acquisition lies solely with the government and will be based on this market research and information available to the government from other sources. �The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, is conducting this market research to identify businesses which have the capability to perform the following work: The Port of Nome Modifications Program will provide the United States with its only deep-draft port in the Arctic. The purpose of the program is to deepen and expand the Port of Nome to provide safe, reliable, and efficient waterborne transportation for additional deeper drafting vessels. The Port of Nome Modifications program has been divided into three separate construction phases: Phase 1 - The West Causeway Extension (Phase 1) is planned for a construction award in 4Q FY23 and is the purpose of this sources sought. Phase 1 will extend the West Causeway by 3,480 linear feet into the Deep-Water Basin. The West Causeway will consist of 22 ton A1 rock, 2 ton B2 rock, 300 lbs. C1 rock, 8 Ton A5 rock, 1.5 Ton B3 rock, 100 lbs. C2 rock and D, E and F fill. Rocks will be placed on the seaside and on the harbor side of the new causeway with hydraulic excavator with grapple, bucket and thumb. Gravel my be open water placed via split scow barge and larger rocks will require cranes with ability to reach and pick large loads for in water placement in depths exceeding -40ft MLLW. Phase 1 will also construct 2,000 linear feet of new open cell pile dock and removal of the existing stub breakwater. �Work shall include extending the existing utilities to include potable water, sewer force main, diesel, Jet A and gasoline pipelines and power and communications. ��� Phase 1 will include installation of high mast lighting and paving a new 30-foot-wide access road that will travel the length of the new West Causeway extension. It is anticipated that construction will begin in the spring of FY24 and conclude in the fall of FY27. The estimated dollar magnitude of this project is anticipated between $180,000,000 and $200,000,000.�� � THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package (not exceeding 5 pages) demonstrating the ability to perform work listed above. �Packages should include the following information: (1)� Business name, CAGE Code, address and business size under NAICS 237990. (2)� If a small business, identify small business type (HUBZone, SDVOSB, 8(a), Woman Owned Small Business, etc.). (3)� Demonstration of the firm's experience as a prime contractor on projects of similar size, type and complexity within the past five (5) years.� List actual projects completed and include project title and location, a brief description of the project to include dollar amount of the project and work that was self-performed. (4)� Provide firm's single project bonding limit and information on the organizational and financial resources available to perform the required work. Please note that the firm will need to have the capacity to perform this work. Responsible sources demonstrating relevant experience and the capabilities to perform the work will be considered qualified for purposes of determining the Government�s acquisition strategy.� System for Award Management (SAM), as required by FAR 4.1102 and 4.1201, will apply to this procurement.� Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award. �Lack of registration in the SAM database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
