Description

The primary function of the BioDot AD1520 Protein Spotter-Aspirate/Dispense Platform currently owned and operated by NOAA/NCCOS scientists for mission essential work is to aspirate and dispense highly specialized �inks� used for printing custom-designed membrane-based arrays employed to detect algal toxins. The centerpiece of this Instrument is manufactured by BioDot and is a fully integrated BioJet Elite pump, which is an integral component of the company�s end-to-end engineering of this highly sophisticated piece of precision instrumentation. It has been determined that a system upgrade to BioDot�s BioJet HR pump is required in order to optimize NOAA�s current application of this Instrument and to eliminate issues related to the fact that the stock BioJet Elite pump is not the best option for our specific application. The BioJet HR pump is a proprietary technology that has been engineered to ensure its full and complete integration and operability with the Instrument in terms of compatibility, connectivity/interfacing, highly specialized form, fit, and function and overall coordination with the existing system. BioDot Inc, does not have any authorized resellers and therefore, it is deemed that no company other than BioDot is capable of providing a pump/fluidic path/controller board assembly that is fully compatible with the Instrument from engineering, operational, and performance perspectives.
