Description

Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract DLA Distribution, Susquehanna, intends to award a fixed price contract for remedial maintenance (RM) services for Classified Mapping Storage Systems in Bldg. 66 E located at DLA Distribution Richmond, VA. The storage system consists of 2 HK 750 Mini-load Cranes; which store 1 M DVDs per storage aisle.� This is a sole source requirement to Dematic Corp. (large business), the proprietary equipment manufacturer. In accordance with FAR 6.203-1 �Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements and FAR 13.106-1(b) �soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.�� Dematic is the Original Equipment Manufacturer, which maintains proprietary rights over its systems, software, and parts. PM and RM services for the proprietary Dematic systems may only be performed by Dematic technicians and no other vendors can acquire the parts.� They are the only service provider with access to OEM (Dematic) parts, service updates, Factory Certified Technicians, firmware updates, service manuals, factory recall announcements, product improvements and factory warranty support. Interested contractors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 811310 with a small business size standard of $8,000,000.00 and PSC of J039. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. A solicitation will not be issued for this procurement action or posted to the single Government Point of Entry, the SAM.gov website. All responsible sources may respond by submitting qualifications/capabilities statement of the company by May 12, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. EST to Edward Ruud, via email: edward.ruud@dla.mil for consideration by the agency. If no affirmative responses are received, a purchase order will be awarded to Dematic Corp.
