DESCRIPTION This Sources Sought notice is needed for the Statement of Work (SoW) below. A qualified service-disabled veteran owned small business may be chosen for this award. This is an SDVOSB total set-aside. The vendor shall be capable of performing the work. Documentation of technical expertise shall be presented in sufficient detail for the government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name (b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) duns number (f) cage code (g) tax id number (h) type of small business, (e.g., services disabled veteran owned small business), and (i) must provide a quote that addresses the organization s qualifications and ability to perform as a vendor for the work described below. STATEMENT OF WORK BACKGROUND The Baltimore VAMC, 50 Greene Street, Baltimore MD 21201, has a need for data recovery of a Raid Array of seven (7) disks. A Sun Solaris (UNIX) server running DataFax software, with an attached data array for space and redundancy, had a major issue. Once the server issue was corrected, the attached array was found in a degraded state, and not readable. There are seven (7) drives in this set, configured as a mirror, and are not in a state to gain access. The DataFax data needs to be recovered from the drive set, in a format that can be read. OBJECTIVE Determine if any of the seven (7) drives can be read and transfer the good data to a medium that allows other machines access. DELIVERABLES The vendor shall: Analyze the set of seven (7) drives to determine if data can be read. Save restored data to CD/DVD or readable media. Determine if File attributes of data as listed below are readable Determine if the folder structure is readable. Recover /opt/datafax or /opt/dfdiscover and generally /opt/studies/ directories and sub-contents. Here is a link to the DFdiscover programmer guide for further information. Arrange and provide all shipping of the drives to and from the VA. DFdiscover Study Files describes the format used for the various files for a given study. Heading Description Usual Name the file name that is usually given to files having this format. Some files are kept at the DFdiscover directory level while others are kept separately with each study directory. Type one of: ""clear text"" or ""binary"". Clear text files can be reviewed with any text editor. Created By the name of the DFdiscover program(s) that create and modify this file. If you need to edit the contents of the file, use the program listed here. Used By the name of the DFdiscover program(s) that reference or read this file. Field Delimiter how fields within a record are delimited. Typically, the delimiter is a single character. Record Delimiter how records within the file are delimited. Typically, the delimiter is a single character. Comment Delimiter how comments within the file are delimited. If comments are not permitted within the file, ""NA"" is indicated. Description a detailed description of the meaning of each field. Example one or more example records from the file. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY The vendor will arrange for the drives to be shipped to and from the Veterans Affairs. The seven (7) RAID hard drives HP BD3008A4C6 Ultra300 10k HotPlug SCA 80Pin will be packed and shipped in as safe a manner as possible. If Government Furnished Property (GFP) if provided to the vendor, at the conclusion of the completed work, return all the GFP within 5 business days. MEETINGS\NOTIFICATIONS These should be informational\situational, as needed, but no formal requirement. TRAVEL REQUIREMENT No Travel is needed for this operation. CONTRACTING OFFICER\REPRESENTATIVE No Government Personnel, other than the Contracting Officer, has the authority to change or alter these requirements. The COR shall clarify technical points or supply relevant technical information, but no requirements in this scope of work may be altered was a sole result of such verbal clarification.
