Description

NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award to a single source contract to MA Tech Services Inc. to provide two new MATE medical gas analyzers (MGA) with sample altitude manager (SAM) units (�MATE MGA 1100s�) for the Life Sciences Section � Aerospace and Environmental Physiology Research Laboratory (ENV PHY) at the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The ENV PHY Research Laboratory seeks to acquire two new MATE MGA 1100 instruments to perform rapid, real-time breath-by-breath analysis of inhaled and exhaled respiratory gases of human participants in a variety of respiratory and cardiovascular esearch studies as part of the laboratory�s mission to ensure aviation safety. Requirements (1) Must be able to collect, monitor, and analyze the following respiratory, atmospheric, and tracer (i.e., calibration) gases: Oxygen (O2)* Carbon Dioxide (CO2)* Nitrogen (N2)* Water Vapor (H2O) Helium (He) Argon (Ar) Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) *These gases must be collected and analyzed across a wide range of atmospheric and physiological conditions (e.g., normal �resting� conditions, low levels [respiratory extremis] to high levels [strenuous exercise]). Abstract: Purpose of the Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA�s decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures.
