- Description
- Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) is seeking sources for F-35 Developmental and Operational Test by creating Live/Virtual/Constructive test environments with JSE. To this end, NAWCAD is seeking sources for a real-time medium-fidelity dwell-based model of the F-35 Electronic Warfare (EW) System model that utilizes a portion of the aircraft EW Operational Flight Program (OFP). Further, NAWCAD is seeking a high-fidelity pulse-level model of the F-35 EW System using a significant portion of the aircraft EW OFP software, emulating the hardware front end operation and coupling with EW test stand software. Finally, NAWCAD is seeking sources for F-35 EW hardware and software components purpose-built to stimulate the aircraft at an RF level. The Government does not possess the data required to create the required medium or high fidelity pulse level simulation or F-35 EW hardware and software components purpose-built for simulating the EW environment and stimulating the aircraft under test. The high-fidelity model must: -Execute in hard real-time matching the aircraft EW subsystem operation and execution timelines whilst connected to F-35 aircraft OFP mission systems using JSE consume pulse descriptor words (PDWs) generated and synchronized with the NEWEG stimulation system- integrate, interface and interoperate with F-35 subsystem models andmeet full EW system capability. The medium-fidelity model must: -Execute in hard real-time approximate the aircraft EW subsystem operation and execution timeline whilst connected to simulated F-35 aircraft mission systems consume dwell-level data generated by JSE similarly integrate, interface and interoperate with F-35-like subsystem models and meet full EW system capability. The F-35 EW purpose-built hardware and software components must: -Execute in hard real-time to bridge EW stimulation hardware/software producing RF output to live aircraft components to allow for behind the aperture stimulation of the EW system- interface, integrate and interoperate with F-35 aircraft as well as other test hardware and software directly for real-time stimulation. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Navy is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the SAM.gov Website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. Responses to this RFI shall be sent by email to Shara Ruth at shara.j.ruth.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 11:00 A.M. EDT, 09 May 2022.
