Description

The MAGTFTC training environment lacks sufficient network coverage and bandwidth to support the integration of instrumented live forces with virtual and constructive simulation necessary to support the�Marine Corps Synthetic Training Environment (MCSTE), Joint Capabilities Integration and Development�System Initial Capabilities Document, and Force-on-Force Training Systems (FoFTS). For MAGTFTC to provide training opportunities in accordance with the Marine Corps Operating Concept, it requires a capability which enables an over-the-horizon (OTH) and beyond line of sight (BLOS) voice, video, and data (ground and air} communications. MAGTFTC is seeking to test and evaluate wireless capabilities that can meet that requirement in the austere environment at Twentynine Palms with sufficient reliability to ensure minimal disruptions to or interruptions of training, to include adequate coverage and bandwidth, to provide both voice and data networks for range safety coordination and to provide Position, Location, Information (PU) to range control facilities and exercise control cells. The test and evaluation networks will have to meet Marine Corps and DoD Information Assurance requirements.
